(1 Semester Elective)

Textbooks: The Bible;

Homer A. Kent, Jr., Light in the Darkness: Studies in the Gospel of John (Available from www.bmhco.org/welcome.htm and www.amazon.com)

Supplementary Material: Computer quiz on the Gospel of John. This can be downloaded from http://jarrell.homepage.com

Schedule:

After the first 2 weeks, each section of study will consist of the following elements:

1. Scripture reading

2. Textbook reading

3. Answering Questions for Discussion at end of each chapter

4. Working on a project on the Gospel of John. Some project suggestions:

5. The student should keep a notebook for recording chapter titles and answering discussion questions.

Tests: There are no required tests for this class. However, the computer quiz on John (which was my son Jarrell's project for this class) may be used as a final exam.

Daily Schedule: The daily schedule is up to the teacher. In general, each section will fill a week, with extra class periods given to completion and presentation of the project and preparation for the final exam. This class should fill about half the school year, or one semester.

1. Read the entire Gospel of John. As you read give a title to each chapter and record it in your notebook.
